Director & Founder
My name is Kris Olson and I am the founder and director of True North Girls Choir (TNGC). I graduated from Bethel University with a degree in music and have worked in the music field my entire adult life. I teach private piano to students of all ages; I have also worked in the church for many years as well as in the theater community. In college I served as student conductor for the top choir at Bethel and have directed many choirs and musical groups since then both within and outside the church. In short, music brings me great joy; providing others with the opportunity to experience that same joy is what I love to do.
For many years I have had the vision of creating a choir that would give young girls the opportunity to be part of an elite musical group that not only performs together but also serves together; a group that would create friendships, develop character, encourage spiritual growth and inspire servanthood.
Music is a universal language; music combined with faith is an eternal language that can have great impact on those who perform as well as those who hear. It is my hope that whatever music True North Girls Choir sings and wherever we perform, that those who hear will experience joy and inspiration and will see God’s love in all that we do.
Bekah entered the Minneapolis music and theatre scene at a young age cultivating her passion for singing and performing for over ten years now. She is a classically trained alto with much of her choral training coming from her college years as a student leader in the Bethel Choir. The True North Girls’ Choir has been on her radar from it’s fruition and she looks forward to filling the role of musical advisor and mentor.

Traci grew up singing in choirs, dancing in show choirs, and performing on stage. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater. In 2004, on her way to Broadway, Traci made a “brief” pit-stop in the Twin Cities. While performing with the Season’s Dinner Theater she met her husband Chris who introduced her to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her life would never be the same! Now Traci is wife to Chris and mom to 5 awesome and crazy kiddos. Traci is excited to see all that God has planned for the True North Girl’s Choir!
